Paul Thomas Mann was born 6/6/1875, died 8/12/1955 In 1929 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his epic Buddenbrooks, and The Magic Mountain. Manns’ books especially Buddnebrooks, were high on the list of books in Hitlers’ book burning sprees.
Doktor Faustus was written in 1947 and were written about Adrian Leverkhuhn and the corruption of the German culture in the years between World War I and World War II.
